We've had numerous open days in the past and they seemed to go well.

There's a lot to be said for having a space rent free. I've seen many other
hackerspaces struggle to pay their bills after the initial surge of
enthusiasm subsides and people have to commit to paying monthly fees -
which tend to discourage more casual users and the curious who have yet to
buy into the idea. Leeds Hackspace is one example of a group that ran into
such problems and had to give their space up... (and ISTR people got left
with debts too)

Not to mention that the CCA is also a pretty cool place to be and there are
synergies/mutual benefits in that relationship.
