[ELECTRON] Important news from the CCA

All,

Recently the CCA received a court summons for a group who had used the
Electron club room as the registered address of a company they had set
up. The group in question had been using the room some time ago, but
apparently not in recent history, there was no contact details on any
of their bookings**.

The CCA are happy to allow members to have postal mail delivered to
the Electron Club room, but not happy for this address to be used for
anything else, including but not limited to the registered address of
a company.

If you are currently using the address for anything other than postal
mail please contact me off list.

Secondly, from now on when signing out the keys to the room CCA
reception will be checking that you are on the members list I provide
to them, and asking for ID. This isn't surprising, and has in fact
been they way the process has been described on the EC FAQ since
before I joined:

"How do I get into the room?

A list of members will be kept at CCA box office/reception downstairs.
Members will bring some proof of identification and sign for and
collect keys to the club from CCA reception. Members will also need to
sign in and out of the building for fire regulation purposes, so
please remember to sign out and return the keys when you leave!"

As a reminder, the membership list I provide to the CCA is generated
from the mailing list. So if you have provided your name (first name
and surname) when signing up an entry is added to the list. Those who
have not provided a full name are not added to the list.

Only members wishing to sign out the keys for use of the room are
required to provide ID. If you simply want to attend an event someone
else is running you just turn up as usual. Note that people signing
out the keys are responsible

In the past I've sent out emails to all individuals who had not
provided their names explaining this, and had some responses. If you
are in doubt as to your status on the list, please email me directly
and I'll check your details.

Please keep in mind that the CCA provide us with the use of the space
at no cost.

Thanks

Martin

creating calendar entries as specified in the instructions:
