It saddens me that your experience with the Electron Club hasn't been wholly positive.

I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to, but I certainly don't recall anything remotely illegal being discussed on this this list.

Certainly, there have been plenty of instances where people have expressed a strong opinion about what this this list, and the club is for and what it should be. However, the expression of these opinions, and the ability to express a counter-opinion is expressly fundamental to the what the Electron Club is and how it operates. Granted, these discussions can get rather passionate, and tact isn't always our members strong suit, but I've certainly not witnessed anything that I'd consider personal attacks or harassment.

If you have concrete evidence to the contrary I suggest you contact me directly off list (I don't think a public list is the best place to discuss legal matters), and we can discuss how to proceed.

There has never seen or been aware of anything close to 'hacking for illegal reasons' being carried out in the EC room to my knowledge.

Likewise, I've never seen anything posted on this list that remotely constitutes the circulation of criminal behaviour, or clues to how it may be instigated.

Once again, if you have concrete evidence to contrary, please contact me off-list. I'd personally be happy to help you in any way I can.

Illegal activity is indeed not allowed in the Electron Club, but to make vague accusations without specfic example on this list isn't fair to the general membership of this list.

I suppose it's worth mentioning that the Electron Club is nothing more than a loose collection of folks that use this list and a room in the CCA within the general remit of the Electron Club. Any actions that a person may take and anything they may say are wholly and completely theirs, and not representative of the Electron Club as a whole, or the CCA.

Best,
Ben D.

In fact, in accordance with Scots Law, those emails can be passed on at any time and constitute cruelty, if not harassment.

The Electron Club, as an affiliate of the CCA, though with its own funding structure, should not be used as a forum to circulate criminal behaviour, or clues to how it may be instigated. Art cannot legitimise crime. Nor can the Internet. Activism is one thing, but it must be handled gently so as not to hurt the public.
