I've been running debian stable on my home server, and I love the fact that
i can have the updates automatically installed. I've been running Ubuntu on
my laptop and it's frequently out of date as it demands human intervention
to update. It's not a massive problem to get the computer to turn on at 
night, run automatic updates and switch off after. Of course, it would 
preclude running stuff on it constantly, but I've never heard of anyone 
doing that on the antiquated EC machines.
