The first ever Festival of Making, <http://www.accessart.org.uk/festivalofmaking> sponsored by NES Arnold<http://www.nesarnold.co.uk>, will take place for the whole of July 2011, across the UK and overseas.

Craft, Design, Visual Arts, Architecture… and “Making For It’s Own Sake” – the Festival of Making is all about celebrating hands-on making, creating opportunities, getting involved and having a go.

Coordinated by AccessArt, the Festival of Making will encourage and support practitioners and educators across the country to coordinate events/workshops and talks which provide children, adults, families, practitioners and teachers with the opportunity to share practice, try new ideas, get their hands dirty, and to remind ourselves of the positive value and impact which making can have.

Alongside local and regional events, AccessArt will be launching a series of participatory projects online, to get schools, community groups and individuals across the country to GET MAKING!
