[ELECTRON] GLASGOW STUDENTS AGAINST CUTS: Monday 29th November: New Glasgow-wide day of education/planning against cuts and for resistance

Hi Tom.

This is a topic that comes up again and again on this list.

The Electron Club is a pretty diverse and dynamic place. Some members
are very politically active and vocal, and others seem to be more
interested in the practical side of hacking and tinkering. Others
(who I suspect are the majority of members) occupy some kind of middle
ground. As a result, there are several opinions of what is and isn't
valid activity for the EC.

Personally, I think this is a good thing. The constant questioning of
this sort of thing helps keep the Electron Club vibrant. It also
helps keep any one group from dominating the club. As long as things
stay civil, and don't get too extreme I'd keep posting relevant
things, political or not. If a line is crossed, it will certainly be
called out and debated.

This also means folks shouldn't post if they aren't prepared to get an
occasional dissenting opinion. Hopefully the noise won't be too much
for people to bear.

best,
Ben D.
