I have no personal experience of the Chumby, however Chumby inventor
Andrew "Bunnie" Huang has a superb blog:

It's well worth looking back through some of the older entries.

Huang's book, "Hacking the Xbox", partly available on Google Books, is
also well worth a look. The url is very long, but a Google search for
"Hacking the Xbox" will find it easily.
