I enjoyed the day a lot, just a bit sorry to have missed the talks.
We now have quite a lot of the Madlab basic soldering kits which we havent used. As these were provided for public outreach purposes perhaps we should consider a soldering event for the public sometime in the next few months.

A big thanks to everyone who came and helped out at the Open Day. I
think everybody had  a good time and got a lot from it. They was
definitely a good level of enthusiasm from many of the new people who
came along and  a lot of things that could be built on for the future.
Francis McKee, the CCA director, was very pleased and impressed by it
all. In terms of people coming along to see things there was interest
from several people about doing further things elsewhere or linking up
with other projects. Will send more about that later.

Our fund-raising efforts were not so impressive but not entirely abysmal
either: we made around 90 pounds with about 50 coming from Jim's kits,
30 from the raffle and 10 from donations for food and badges. Where we
stand exactly in relation to the broadband will be clearer once I have
spoken with New Media Scotland and got an idea of what their
contribution will be.

best wishes
Si
