[ELECTRON] Email ghosts

Hi All
Having problems with annoyed un-subscribers on my mail list (Thunderbird) 
They still get update emails and I have deleted there addresses everywhere 
  I have found them in my folders. Another thing is I also get returns from 
emails I have deleted from lists ages ago? Can't find anything in the 
forums much help. any ideas where to look? Ch Bob
