When you initially login you will be greeted by an overview of projects in the Club.
Left Hand side
- Dashboard - An overview of all the currently available projects at the electron club.
- To-Dos - You can see a list of things people are doing, includin yourself via the 'To-Dos' overview as well but its usually easier just to just look inside actual projcets and then look at their seperate 'To-Dos'.
- MileStones - A calendar of notable dates within the projects.
Right Hand Side
- People - Everyone involved!
- Projects - Individual orginaisers for the projects
Navigating a Project
Overview - A small calendar and all the things moving through the planner in the past few days. If people are messaging, commenting, completing tasks or adding files it all goes through here so kepp an eye out!
Messages - Messages for everyone on the Project to see. This is an internal messaging system to talk to all the project members. You may ask why use this chat as opposed to te others? Well if you leave messages here ONLY your project members will see it, so if its private or even too trivial to go on a project blog, email list or wiki you can post it here to the people it concerns. You can even add private messages that only certain groups can see.
To-Do - Keep track of all your tasks in To-do lists.
They are just as easy as they sound. If you want to do
smoething make a note and everyone will know you are
helping out, also your project may have an open list
of to-dos, can yuo pick any of them off th elist and
help out? Go ahead! But be sure to keep everyone up to
date via messages.
Milestones - Some projects want to commit to certain
tasks for a date so that it can give everyone a goal
to work to. These are a really important part of the
planner as it helps everyone feel that they are really
making progress. Everythign else on the planner should
be linked to these milestones so you can see a big
list of what was done when. Keeping everything linked
to dates will give everyone a great sense of
satisfaction when they can look back and say look at
all our hard work!
Writeboards - An electron Club Team project should be
a team effort and so you can put up documents here for
other people to help out on.
