versions of ubuntu - in my case the system ran slower than a snail on valium. I have been using Ubuntu for about a year now and found it great. However this week it suddenly went haywire, it froze, words disappeared, the screen broke up, images distorted, and sometimes I ended up with the screen split diagonally with a line across from corner to corner. I kept getting messages stating that Ubuntu had a system error, reported the error but it kept on coming with the same message. I have uninstalled it about six or seven times and re-installed alternating between 12.04 and 12.1 systems from the Ubuntu download page. They both work fine until the first updates come through and after the update,
it is back to the banana antics. I have also got windows on the computer, but as I have said everything worked fine for about a year. Any ideas, before I go crazy.
