All,

We've had contact from Michelle Richmond from Strathclyde university,
who is organising a repair cafe and has reached out asking for
volunteers. The preference is for people who are involved with the
uni, but any help is appreciated. If you are interested or have any
further questions please contact Michelle directly:

"I am a postgraduate student at the University of Strathclyde and as
part of a project for my MSc in Sustainability and Environmental
Studies I am setting up a repair café. Repair cafés are social,
community spaces where people bring their hand-portable damaged,
broken or torn household and personal possessions to be repaired or
mended by experienced and multi-skilled repairers. I plan to host the
first repair café event in February during Green week (12th - 16th)
and again between the 30th and 4th of May - specific dates have not
yet been decided. Although the repair café is currently only a pilot,
the goal is to host an event regularly, for example monthly or
quarterly. I have been told that several current/former students and
members of staff from the University are part of this club and I am
looking to see if any would be interested in volunteering as a
repairer. I am unsure if you can help, but if so: I am hoping to
recruit persons who are able to fix electrical items, such as
toasters, blenders; computers; textile items; bicycles; or someone who
considers themselves to be particularly "handy" and would be able to
fix broken items such as toys and other portable household or personal
possessions. Please let me know if this is something you can help with
or if you can put me in touch with someone who can help. Yours
sincerely, Michelle Richmond"
