So the issue here isn't around double bookings, the room was booked
for Bobs event, albeit for 1 year in the past. For each designated
room only one booking can occur at one time.

For us as a collective the booking system serves several purposes,
primarily so we can organise ourselves in a (semi) sane manner, and so
that the CCA know what's going on should someone turn up at reception
asking a question. Another use is that we have some way to show our
utilisation of the space over time. In this respect being able to book
the room retrospectively is encouraged for the sake of our longevity.

When I get the chance I'll do some digging to see if there's an easy
way to limit the period in which bookings can be made retrospectively.
