Yuvi will be giving a lightening talk on matrix.org :

"Matrix.org is a distributed, federated group chat system that combines
the open source ethos of IRC, the federation capabilities of email &
the UX of Slack. Chat systems are an important component of Open
Source projects, and it is important that they have good UX (to be
inclusive), under the control of the community around the project
(messages should not disappear after a certain time because you did
not pay a company money) and decentralized (so single points of
failure/control/censorship do not happen). Matrix is the closest we
have right now in satisfying all of this, and this talk shows a small
demo of the various features Matrix has."

He's also involved in jupyter.org and works for wikimedia foundation
and is passionate about opening access to programming. He'd be up for
chatting about any of these during the day. He normally lives in SF
but is in Glasgow for a few weeks and on previous visits has been to
the electron club for scotlug and a hackathon we had for a project i'm
involved with.

I'm bringing cupcakes.
