Graham Lang

"Hi, I found your site while searching for details of a Glasgow
hackerspace so thought I'd join the mailing list to get an idea of
what's going on with the club and see if there's anything I could help
with. I started off with a ZX81 about 35 years ago and learned coding
by hacking a lot of games on the later 8 bit and 16 bit machines
through the 80's and 90's, so I'm still mostly into low level
hacking/coding even now. Did some console game development in the mid
90's with friends from the Atari 16 bit scene and from the late 90's
ended up making hardware and firmware hacks for DVD and then Blu-ray
player region code systems. Also done some car ECU firmware/encryption
hacking. Basically, give me a binary file and disassembler and I'm
happy. :) I can help with dumping firmware chips, modifying/reverse
engineering binary files, low level coding etc. I'm always on the
lookout for new hacking related projects, either commercial or just
for fun. Regards, Graham."

seriously until a few years ago (I'm 29) when I started to know about
the maker movement, arduino, raspberry and so on. I look forward to
get to know you and see what interesting projects I get involved in !!
Have a nice day, Alberto."

Roy Bradley

"Hi there, I am interested in learning about open source software
GNU/Linux etc and I am also very interested in the building and
maintenance of computer hardware, specifically a desktop PC's etc. I
would like to be able to build my own PC someday. Thanks for reading."

If you haven't done so already please take the time to read through
some general info about who we are and what we do:

http://electronclub.org/doku.php?id=info

Then the existing groups and up coming events:

http://electronclub.org/doku.php?id=groups

http://www.electronclub.org/calendar

Events are run by our members and are free to attend. Should you wish
to start your own group please email enquiries at electronclub.org
Please let me know if you have any questions about any of the above.

The next Electron Social will probably take place on a Saturday on
January, after the Christmas/new year craziness has calmed down. I'll
post again soon with proposed dates for you to vote on if you can
attend, and some interesting details of a future event which I know
will be of interest to some of you.

I've had reports of the room being left in an unfit state. If you
arrive and find this to be the case please let me know so I can raise
the issue with the last person to use the space. I'd hope it goes
without saying but if you make a mess, please tidy it up. Other people
shouldn't have to do so before they can use the space.

Cheers

Martin
