Brief description: Maptime Glasgow
Description: Maptime began in San Francisco in 2013 as an opportunity for anyone interested in making maps to get together and learn from one another. Maptime uses free, open source software such as QGIS, Leaflet, and CartoDB, as well as traditional mediums such as pencil to create maps that are informative and original.

The concept is to have monthly meetings where there would be a speaker, either from within the group or an invited expert, who would present on a topic such as web mapping or hand drawn maps and then there would be a hands on workshop using that software or technique. The philosophy of Maptime is that everyone is welcome, with no previous experience necessary. Everyone learns with one another.
