Come and find out about this exciting project. All about inspiration,
what we have and how we can use it.

Radical Imagination: http://radicalimagination.co.uk

There is an alternative out there. An alternative to lots of things.
Alternative ideas to the present systems and attitudes to economics,
parliamentarian politics, value systems, education, governance, health,
history, philosophy, art, ecology and a whole lot of other things.

But. These alternatives are invisible to most people.

We continually talk about building from the grassroots, from the ground
up, organising in the community, building solidarity, but most of the
time ignore these things in practice.

Strategies for change don't last, unless those they will affect most are
included in forming the questions that shape them. They can not be
helicoptered in, no matter who presents them. If they are to last, they
need to be created by the deep base building work needing done right at
the heart of the community.

The elephant in the room would seem to be the lack of political
connection with the very people that need to be connected if we are to
implement institutional change. If we can not engage with the many who
are disengaged in the building of alternative power, why should we
expect to succeed?

Whether we agree or not. Is it not at least time for reflection. Time to
look at vision, of who we are and want to be. Not just as a protest
movement, a hackneyed version of a political party, advocates of endless
process, social network activists, but as human beings.

Basically, asking. What are the principals that guide our activities?
Why are we so busy, when many are redundant? Who's boot is on the
accelerator deciding how fast we need to go? How do we energise our
communities from a prolonged period of instability and fear to a
politics of courage.

How do we make the alternative visible and in a form that is useful to
ordinary people? And ultimately to ask the question. Why do we find it
so difficult to do it together?

The Radical Imagination Power Event. A year long process of workshops,
meetings, events. Hopefully they should be as much about looking at
ourselves, as examining that which is in conflict with our interests.
Looking at ourselves in the context of our place in the movement and
what that movement should represent, collectively. The workshops over
the year will inform what we tackle at the main two day power event.

Details here: Please pass to those who may be interested. Introduction
meetings will be posted in website diary.
