We have some new members:

Shareen Sorour:

"Hey, I'm a sculpture student at GSA, I recently have become
interested in using Arduino, but have no prior knowledge, so basically
I'm a total noob! I primary use projection, video and sound in my
work. I would love to learn more about programing so that I can
manipulate theses aspects further, and I was wondering if you guys
could help. I hope to hear from you soon!!! thanks."

Chris Osborne:

"I'm an astrophysics student currently in my second year at the
University of Glasgow. I have had an interest in hobby electronics for
quite some time. At home in France I have all the basic electronics
kit (and then a bit!), unfortunately I couldn't bring much with me.
I'd like to get back into electronics projects again and feel like
this could be a useful place for such. I'm currently working on
designing and building my own keyboard that I'm hoping to finish up
sometime in March. I'm fairly knowledgeable in the fields of amplifier
design (especially valve and headphone amps), arduino/small mcus, and
general software development (centred around C++). I enjoy helping
people with projects and feel that getting involved with your
electronics groups could be a lot of fun!"

Andy Carlin

"Hello, I am currently looking for a place where I can build up my
practical skills for making things. I am currently a volunteer with
enNable, and aim to be able to make prosthetic devices."

Everone above, the groups alt.electron, SOLDER and the Glasgow Open
Source Hardware group are likely of interest to you. You can find out
when these groups are meeting in the calendar:

"blueprintscotland at gmx.co.uk We are a land and property focus
community voluntary group. We are called Blueprint Scotland
http://www.blueprintscotland.org.uk/ Our website gives an outline. We
have conversation with the Scottish government going on in regards to
a bill thats being proposed called the community empowerment act. We
also are looking to do workshops in how to grow your own food and self
sufficiency. We will do workshops also on new creative ways to design
new living spaces within our Urban and Rural Blueprints. [can be seen
on the website] We require a place we can use as an address of contact
and workshop and meeting space. Already I am part of the university of
the west of Scotland and use the UWS room at the CCA for my lectures
as I am studying a MA in Music: innovation and entrepreneurship. We
are looking at applying to Creative Scotland for funding towards
workshops in the design parts of our blueprints and the grow your own
food workshops. We are also seeking to make a part on the website that
will tell the story of Scottish citizens through video. If we can use
the room from time to time and use the location as a mailing point we
would be grateful for the support. Best Wishes Tommy Reid"

Tommy, it's OK to receive occasional postal mail but not to use the
Electron club/CCA address for any other purpose, for example
registered address of an organisation, a postal mailing list(large
volumes of mail) etc. If in doubt about any of this please ask.

Thanks

Martin
