Tuesday 30th June The Govan Project - Volunteer information session:
5:30-6:30 pm Film/Discussion 7-9:00

We seem to have a strong consensus that much is wrong in our communities
and many expert models that repeatedly fail to deal with putting
anything right. The real experts on issues that affect ordinary people
are to be found nearest the problem. Participatory Action Research, is
about listening to these experts at source and attempting to. First.
Find ways of working with each other. Second. Find our own solutions to
problems. Third. How do we put our plans into action.

Join us at these events to find out more.

The Govan Project (volunteer information session) 5:30-6:30

Want to make community resources more responsive to community needs?
Want to learn new skills? Want to be more involved in decision making in
your community?
A community led research project exploring how we make community
resources work for the people of Govan and beyond. To find out more come
along to our volunteer information session: (Need tech people)

History of our streets. Film/Discussion 7-9:00

It was the early 1980s Dennistoun Glasgow. The people of Reidvale,
hadn't a clue what they were doing when they set up a community housing
association. A model that is now used all over the UK. What drove them
is, they knew what they wanted, as well as what they didn’t want.

How people fight to keep their communities alive.

What lessons can we learn today from those who set the examples? We will
be recording conversations after the film as part of Govan Participatory
Action Research Project. Come along and tell us what you are thinking,
or just enjoy the film.
