So we had a few people turn up on Saturday of the course of the
afternoon. Thanks to those who showed up.

I've had reports of the room being left in a mess. If you are using
the space please tidy it up before you leave. If you've moved tables
and/or put out extra chairs please return such things to their
positions after use to save the next group from having to spend time
cleaning up after you.

This also applies to the equipment in the room. When I arrived on
Saturday the projector was sitting in 'stand by' mode. In the
interests of prolonging bulb life and not wasting electricity, once a
projector has cooled sufficiently it should be unplugged. The
projector should not be placed on top of something which is going to
be hot, for example on top of a computer and out of direct sunlight
(as was the case on Saturday).

Remember that we don't get a budget for replacement parts. On that
subject if you have a spare drum for a HP Laserjet 4 that you don't
need please let me know.

If you aren't familiar with a piece of equipment please ask for
help/advice before you attempt to use it.

On that note I've left a fairly large 3D printer in the room. At the
moment this should just be left alone, there is some calibration
outstanding before it can be used. I also need to print a housing for
it.

We also threw around some ideas of what other equipment would be most
beneficial to the room, we have some ideas which need to be
investigated a little bit more for viability purposes, before we have
an open discussion. Stay tuned.

On Saturday someone asked about the history of the Electron club, some
time ago Andrew Back started this thread has some info:

Also, in the not too distant future:

Kenny has spent time setting up a new calendar system, we'll be
switching over to that shortly, it'll make our lives easier. Thanks
Kenny.

Discussion for an introduction to electronics/soldering workshop.

Other notes:

There is a pile of post for 'The Drouth' which awaits collection.

Please contact info at electronclub.org before dropping off any more
components/broken machinery. We have plenty of both and don't want the
space to become unworkable, as has happened a few times in the past.

Feel free to let me know (off list if you prefer) if you have any
comments/questions about any of this.

Thanks

Martin
