All,

We have some new members:

Colin Woof:

"Hi there,

I'm interested in joining and am wanting to ask a few question to see if
the electron club is a good fit for what I am doing.

I'm trying to build a couple of big lightballs that respond to movement to
be hung at a festival this summer(not commercial, doing this for fun) and
I'm certainly no expert at this stuff.

I was wanting to know how equipment is organised? is it a case of bring
your own soldering iron or is their communal equipment? soldering irons,
helping hands, etc.? also do you have any larger tools to use? drills,
grinders for shaping smaller bits of plastic? or is this best done
elsewhere?

Also, what is the ability of everyone who uses the space? Am I going to
feel silly for not knowing very much. :)

Regards,
Colin"

Adrienne Macartney:

"I'm a PhD researcher at the University of Glasgow, in my 2nd year. My
topic is crust-atmosphere coupling and carbon sequestration on Mars. I'm
trying to replicate some of the rover tools and grinders and tinkering lots
with Arduino to get thinks sparking and moving :)

Would be really nice to chat and meet others who are passionate (and know
more than me!) about robotics and tinkering."

Max Dougan:

"I'm an engineering student at Caledonian Uni. I attend regular meetings at
the Electron club with a group, SPSC. I'd like to be able to use the room
at other times with Uni work also. The CCA is nice venue for multiple
things and interests.
Thanks"

Andy McManus:

"Hello,

I've been attending some of the Glasgow Make Some Noise meetings and
thought it would be good to join the Electron Club proper. I'm an
electronic musician that's starting to get involved in the building of a
modular synth. I got an HND in Electronics and Music Tech about 12 years
ago and am looking to get back into the swing of things."

Glad to have you all on board, excuse the delay in adding some of you to
the list.

I've answered some question from Colin above via email early this morning,
and from others who used the contact form. We're getting some attention
here:

http://www.reddit.com/r/glasgow/comments/2p9fcy/glasgow_hackerspace_has_anyone_been/

I'll respond there in due course.

Please if you are keeping things in the fridge ensure you don't forget
about them, mouldy meals have been found.

Thanks

Martin
