Subject: [Daphnet] EPIK at Mozilla - EU Youth friendly Hack/Maker/Co-working Space network
 

I am starting today to email all the space's in the EU as part of a joint
Mozilla webmaker and EPIK project to find all the EU hackspaces that
welcome children into their spaces or if not, would consider doing so with
support.

We are collectively putting together open source learning matterial for
youths to #teachtheweb and #webmaker @epikprojectuk which you would be able
to use for your own youths if you wanted to invite them in; we additionally
have a good working relationship with the Scouts, 99% of which do not have
technical parents to show them the ropes so to speak, so could really do
with you getting involved to share what you love and value to inspire kids
into our industry through making first.

I run a Kent based child centric network EPIK (Encouraging programming in
Kent),  I also work with Mozilla as a WebMaker mentor recuiting and
training new mentors covering Kent, London and other locations by
arrangement and my day job is with ionCube as their HR Manager :)

I would like to recruit you and anyone you think would be interested in the
cause of getting kids coding through making first, from teaching the web to
MineCraft and everything in between, we don't mind how they get to code,
just that they do!; MineCraft - a flavour of JAVA works really well for our
EPIK kids, what do you think would work best with you?
