Monday 14th January - Saturday 19th January
- Spirit of Revolt Presents ‘Radical Presses Clydeside’
(Foyer of) The Mitchell Library, North Street, Glasgow, G3 7DA
10am - 8pm

The Spirit of Revolt collective would like to invite you to an
exhibition presenting one hundred years of autonomous protest
literature, photography and recordings. ‘Radical Presses Clydeside’
brings together a selection of autonomous protest writing from the past
100 years focused upon the Glasgow/Clydeside area. These books and
pamphlets, some rare first editions or in copy form, reflect the
activity and theoretical debates of libertarian socialists and
anarchists from 1897 until today. The materials are held in collections
across the city and
beyond, gathered in this exhibition designed by Spirit of Revolt.

The Spirit of Revolt is a group based in Glasgow who are attempting to
collect as much material as possible that represents grassroots
campaigns and struggles of the ordinary people in and around the
Glasgow/Clydeside area. You could say we try to rescue people’s
history. We wish to make as much of this material as possible easily
accessible to the general public, in the hope that they can identify
with it, learn from it, and continue that struggle for a better world
for all.

Demonstration to delay the redevelopment of George Square
Saturday, February 2, 2013 12:00pm

This is a group set up by a few individuals who believe that Glasgow
City Council has rushed through the redevelopment of George Square
without proper consultation of the public. The current designs are
clearly an attempt to turn our most important civic space in to a
commercialised area to generate money. This is not fair and not acceptable.

It's worth making clear some points about the demo:
     1. The members of this group DO NOT oppose change.
     2. The members of the group are NOT demanding that the square be
left in its current condition.
     3. The general consensus appears to be that the 'red square'
cladding should be removed and that the square should be restored to its
original design and use. A green space in the middle of the city.
