Welcome new member Dave Ball who writes:

My main interests at present is in  guitar  amplifiers and effects. As well
as pickup winding and design. Also  very interested in 3D printing and the
possibilities it  holds.
I'm intrigued by  super conductors and have some ideas  for a practical use.
I currently work in IT  and have almost 20 years experience, and have  a
wide range and depth of knowledge in this field.
I  am a fully qualified electronics engineer with both a BEng and a
MScfrom Glasgow University.

Dave, we're having a social/meet & greet on Thursday 18th April 2013, from
7-9pm.
There's a DIY audio group in it's infancy, currently discussing building
modular synthesisers, but take a look at the calendar on the website for
upcoming activities.
