Are we talking about the same list? Searching through some archives the
majority of the "political" discussion I've found so far is on the subject
of discussing politics on the list. The last mention of anarchy was Kierans
description of the reprap project as "organised anarchy", which seemed
humorous.

The homepage states:

The space also provides a location that not-for-profit community and
discussion groups can use at no charge for meetings and to develop projects.

Provided that the events fit within the usage guidelines (
http://www.electronclub.org/doku.php?id=what_is_the_electron_club)
shouldn't people who aren't doing anything techy be able to use the room?

Or is the issue that you're trying to run a techy event, but can't book the
room due to a non techy event?
