Hi Kieran

In terms of the Meeting dates, my diary is free for now FWIW, sounds good.

GOSG sounds fine to me. If the domain is cheap enough then go for it, If I
can help on the website stuff give me a shout.

Reprap wise. I am happy to contribute in plastic (that's thermo-plastic) if
I can get coax the current love of my life into working. Had a slight hot
end melty melty problem! Waiting for parts. I did print a rather fetching
plastic moustache!

For your component list.. I can help with a list of receipts to whoever is
wishing to do the collating.

Top tips though.

Don't let those old PCs get chucked out from the corner till you have robbed
them of their power supplies. Clip off the molex plugs that the boards
connect to as well. In fact if someone can also harvest the power
connectors on the motherboards as well that will be useful.

Someone also suggested that they had a modest collection of 8mm threaded
rod. If we pull together that as well I think we could cobble together a
lot of the printer without paying out hard cash.

Same could be said for the electronics. I am sure. I may have suitable
mosfets for heaters etc. Though stepper motor drivers may be easier to just
buy. I do have plenty of .1' female pcb connectors and some strip board
(though printing pcb is within the skill set of several of us)

For a community device I think we should be aiming for cheap as we can.
Those that want to create their own from the first can then spend as little
or as much as they feel it is worth to them.

Good luck on the sponsorship front, but I think if we aim to scavenge rather
than look for hard cash we can keep the costs down. I reckon we will
probably need to buy the stepper motors unless we get really lucky on the
scavenging front.

Regards

Blair
