[ELECTRON] Proposed new club + Arduino meet up

HI all,

First of, thanks to everyone for coming, it was a really interesting meeting
and a discussion.

A big thanks to Blair for bringing along his reprap. It was certainly
impressive.

Arduino group.

I have book the next meeting for Thursday the 6th. There is another meeting
on the 3rd thursday of october so propose we meet on the 4th thursday of
oct? Let me no if this is not convenient within the next few days, before I
advertise them :)

As to the name. We discussed calling ourselves G.O.S.G (Glasgow Open Source
Group)-> the domain gosg.org.uk if free.( Somebody is trying to sell
gosg.com for 2 grand. LOL). I could get it for a year for a few quid. Do I
do this?

Bullding a reprap.

As to building an reprap for the group I propose that those that are
interested let me know.

We can then split the cost of building it between us, unfortunately most of
it is going to be upfront. Blair estimates it will cost approx £400.

It seems to me that the first step is a detailed list of components, were to
get them and there costs.

Would anyone like to do this? I am more than happy to.

If we are going to all chip in, someone is going to have to look after the
funds.

Also it would be great to get sponsorship from somewhere. Does anyone know
of anyone or is this just wishful thinking.

I am personally very impressed with the reprap and what can be achieved.
When we have all the bits we should think about who is going to build what.

If interested please email me an let me know.

Thanks

Kieran.
