[ELECTRON] poverty in Scotland?

Occasionally when talking about global poverty in Scotland, I am confronted
with
'there is no poverty in Scotland' statement (people have social problems but
social security sees to most needs, in the absence of income)

i wonder if either way, poverty is a matter of perception, and if people in
general
could be better informed about the facts

I would be interested to open up the question, and tackle it from various
angles,

Wonder if a TEDx event to coincide with TED Global in Edinburgh could be
useful, to
devote proper attetion that get shoved under the carpet, despite
considerable
local, national and international investments

Ir someone is interested to collaborate on someting high profile, we may
have an opportunity to dig up and expose hidden truths *whatever the BBC is
not dealing with?

Ping me off list and lets talk at your convenience

feel free to pass this on to anyone you think may be interested
