Oh hang on... just changed out of Digest mode... I am guessing that will
make things more meaningful?

I'd be interested too. I did an arduino art + tech class at my MFA but I was
a complete beginner. So I have a bit of experience but would be keen for a
refresh too.

Best,

I'd love to come along but will be in Poland on the 2nd. Hopefully it will
go well and there will be another :)

Cheers,

Jason

Ok...

Just remembered how to use the Calendar. I have set a date then for the 2nd
of July, 1pm-5pm

If you cant make the whole afternoon, no problems drop ins are welcome.

So now let the discussion begin...

Happy for an unstructured event, or has anyone ideas as to activities that
you would like to see?

Advice for using the calendar is covered on the website:

http://www.electronclub.org/doku.php?id=howto:calendar

I don't understand what a "run what you bring" type event entails. Could
elaborate on that? Do you mean the event would consist of people
demonstrating arduino based projects they're working on?

>From the existing responses perhaps the session could kick off with a
beginners introduction to the arduino and the various technologies involved.

Cheers

Martin

Yes. Run what you bring would mean just that. Bring what you are working
on along to either demonstrate or for advice and support.

That is the idea in the absence of any others right now.

I do think that it would be a good idea to do something more structured. I
think if those interested chip in ideas as to what they would like to see,
between us all we can make that happen.

I am happy to prepare a presentation on using the Arduino IDE to make a
sketch. I could embellish it to include using a text editor such as
Notepad++ as an option... Not sure how basic is good for people?

It seems each time you post a new thread is spawned:

http://lists.electronclub.org/pipermail/members/2011-June/thread.html#start

To satisfy the existing replies so far, and encourage people who are new to
the topic and don't currently have anything to show I stand by my suggestion
of a introduction into what an Arduino actually consists of and an
introduction to the IDE, notepad++ (it only runs on Windows platforms).
Editor
wars <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Editor_war> are best avoided and IMHO the
standard Arduino IDE is ideal for beginners :)

So something like:

   - What is an arduino
      - The Hardware
      - The Development environment
   - Show and tell (Run what you bring?)

Cheers

Martin
