The QL was a really impressive machine.  Shame about the "micro drives".

It's SuperBasic was actually a highly structured language.  Quite
tough to get to grips with until you read the language programmers own
manual and then it was amazing to use.

I can remember breadboarding a speech synthesiser onto its expansion port.
