Welcome to new members Blair Thompson, Nick Lawrie and Emily Watts

Blair says:

My name is Blair, an IT instructor and dabbler in electronics. I have been involved in electronics for a couple of years now.

I own a website, www.justblair.co.uk which details my and other peoples audio and electronics pages. I have had a couple of articles featured on Hackaday and Slashdot over the last couple of years. My internet moniker is Justblair.

I although audio is what brought me into the hobby I also recently began playing with Arduinos. And that is the google search that discovered the Electron club.

I have an open mind as to what I can do for the club and what it can do for me. I also have a few toys that might be of interest to members!

At home I have a compact workbench that includes a solder station, Hot air solder station and analogue scope. I also own a couple of handheld digital scopes, PIC and AVR programmers.

I have a few bits and pieces of Arduino based kit, and an extensive if somewhat random parts bin mostly full of discrete components and IC's.

I am more than happy to swap parts or bring equipment along.

I figured I would join up and get a feel for the events that you hold... Then who knows you may just see me there.

Blair

Nick says:

Hey I'm Nick, I enjoy music in all its forms. I enjoy recording and producing music and have recently got into audio electronics, I am a beginner with some electronics knowledge. I would be interested in talking about audio/electronics with other people and also bugging persons more experienced than myself at circuit building and electronics with endless questions. i also enjoy talking about other things, most things really.

I also enjoy tea.

Emily says:

Hi, I' Emily, I currently work with Transition Scotland Support, helping communities to move towards becoming low impact, low carbon, more resiliant places.
I'm interested in how we can use the technology we have in a more thoughtful way to help in the above goal rather than leaving it all behind to live in a luddite utopia...
Having said that, my skills are more around knitting, crochet and crafts - I'd really like to start an Upcycling craft and support group. I also have facilitation skills and although I'm pretty untrained, I like to know how stuff works.

Em

best wishes
Si
