Thanks for posting this Andrew.

A few random thoughts in response to BT's terms:

"Groups are only eligible to apply if they have a BT landline."

I presume we do?

"Applications are welcomed from a diverse range of community
organisations, charities, social enterprises and community interest
companies. Previous BT Community Connections winners include silver
surfers, cultural groups, conservation organisations, family support
groups, healthy living clubs, arts and music groups, sports teams and
youth clubs."

We are an arts/culture/technology group

"We welcome applications from groups able to demonstrate how they help
the local community learn about the benefits of the internet and how
they will train members of the community on how to use the internet."

The EC provides free internet access for members at the CCA. EC is also
training people to set up/use the Linux operating system. Linux is the
perfect way to keep an older PC running reliably and securely, hence
allowing those on lower incomes, who can't necessarily afford a new PC,
to access the internet. IIRC there was also a class in PHP programming
(a language specifically for web site design programming) a while ago.

"Priority will be given to applications from community groups that
operate in areas of deprivation"

With 6 of the 10 most deprived constituencies in the UK, and IIRC, 55%
of households having no earned income, Glasgow clearly qualifies as
"deprived".

" Priority will be given to community groups that have not previously
won an award. However, previous award winners are eligible to apply and
will be considered, providing they meet the application criteria."

"Applications are welcomed from religious organisations that carry out
work which benefits members of the local community, regardless of their
religion or belief, if they are able to demonstrate how they help the
local community learn about the benefits of the internet and how they
train members of the community on how to use the internet. Groups which
exist to promote religion itself, and groups where the community must
participate in religious services in order to benefit, are not eligible
to apply. Groups that promote political parties are not eligible to
apply."

"Groups must be based in the United Kingdom (UK) to be eligible to
apply."

"Employees of British Telecommunications plc or Lumina CR Ltd, their
families or agents are not eligible to apply."

"The person authorised by their group to submit the application on its
behalf must be over 18 years of age and resident in the United Kingdom."

Anyone have any more ideas to add to our case?
