That's what's technically referred to as an "educational experience".
You always remember the things that make a big impression.  :)

You'd be surprised how many electrical experts started their career as
a child by poking a set of keys or knitting needles into an
unshuttered electrical socket.  Instead of the resultant electric
shock putting them off electricity for life it seems to inspire
fascination and awe.

Of course, nowadays we've kind of taken all the awe out of everything
to protect the little children.
