Alt-w Fund
Production & R&D Awards
Deadline 5pm, 19th February 2010

Alt-w

Initiated by Scottish Screen in 2000, the Alt-w Fund is
for practitioners based in Scotland to make and develop
new artworks, devices and creative applications that
challenge the notions of what networked or web-based
digital creativity can be.

The fund strongly encourages applicants to explore
experimental and interactive practice, make use of
technology as both platform and medium, and recognise the
changing role that digital culture has in our society.

Since inception the fund has supported over seventy
innovative projects, most recently including work by Alex
Hetherington, Benjamin Dembroski, Distance Lab, Emma
Tolmie, FOUND, Wendy McMurdo & Paul Holmes, Sarah Kettley,
Thomson & Craighead, and ~ in the fields. For this round
our focus is to support projects which present new ideas
for smart spaces and responsive environments.

Got a great idea? The first steps for applying for funding
are simple, visit the New Media Scotland website for a
copy of the guidelines and the application form, then call
or e-mail the New Media Scotland team with any questions
you may have or to schedule a free application surgery at
Inspace in Edinburgh (23rd January or 13th February) or
CCA in Glasgow (6th February).

The application deadline is 5pm on 19th February 2010.

The distribution of the awards is managed by New Media
Scotland and funded by Scottish Screen and Scottish Arts
Council.
