[ELECTRON] Electron Club, what's that then?

The recent discussion has highlighted that there are perhaps some
confusions amongst Electron Club members as to what it's all about.

One of our key principles is that the Electron Club is defined by its
users. The original summary of what the Electron Club is for was written
right when we started four years ago and had no users at all. Since then
the number of people using the space has increased and the variety of
activities has increased and diversified.

As this summary no longer fully reflects what we are, it is
understandable that some confusions have arisen, so I have updated this
a bit to more accurately reflect what goes on in the space (and this
mailing list).

The updated summary now reads:

The Electron Club is a voluntary run space where people interested in
things like Free Open Source Software, DIY culture, circuit bending,
hardware hacking, computer recycling, streaming, audio and video
editing, green technologies, and amateur radio can meet, use equipment,
and share and disseminate their skills and ideas.

We encourage an attitude towards technology, media and DIY production
that recognises the relation of these to society and the environment.
The Electron Club welcomes debate and the development of practices that
question and explore existing and new ways of working and understanding
these.

The space also provides a location that not-for-profit community and
discussion groups can use at no charge for meetings and to develop projects.

Of course it's up for discussion, and suggested changes are welcome, but
I think it fairly encompasses everything and everyone who is using the
space without privileging one group or perspective over another.
