[ELECTRON] computers in electronclub

Hiya

This afternoon i made some changes (hopefully improvements) to the computer 
set up in the electron club, this is separate to the other changes simon has 
been doing moving web and email services, but a bit related.

There are 2 computers set up on the tables: the one nearest the door is the 
new firewall/networking machine, this should be left on and not touched; the 
other machine towards the other end of the tables is working fine and should 
provide you with internet access.

I was running out of time tonight but wireless seems to be working:

SSID: ELECTRON-CLUB
WPA passphrase: "i love electrons" (without the quotes)

I also did a bit of a tidy up with bob, and moved the other computers in to a 
pile near the door over the next few weeks i hope to manage to get some more 
set up and working.  The firewall machine will also get moved when i get a 
chance to somewhere not so much in the way.

I have acquired a working laser printer, you will need to turn it on (and off 
after you are finished) with the switch on the front bottom right.  After some 
brief testing i managed to print from the pc  next to it but it probably needs 
some more work, on that pc it is called "lj4".  This printer is suitable for 
printing the odd page that you need but not for running off lots of flyers or 
posters.

the firewall is running smoothwall, it is the "old" tesla as the time machine 
seemed to have some hardware problems, the old tesla install is still on a 
hard disk in it, i installed smoothwall on another disk with the same 
root/admin passwd.  Its internal ip is 192.168.0.1/24. web interface is 
http://192.168.0.1:81/

the ap is 192.168.0.9 on its internal network (which is connected to the main 
switch) and the wan port is 192.168.0.10

the printer is 192.168.0.11 and can be added to cups on a machine with:

lpadmin -p lj4 -E -v socket://192.168.0.11 -m laserjet.ppd
