Hi,

Liam from the 'Live Art Shop' has approached us about using the space
for a meeting to plan the 'Glasgow Festival of DIY Culture' which will
be taking place later this year. They've asked if they can have the room
on Thursday 11th June at 5pm.

I think Green Map are in recess at the moment so shouldn't be a clash,
but if there is a clash or such, etc let us know. They are expecting
about 20-30 people to show up.

They have also invited Electron Club people to take part in the
festival, more info about it is below.

best wishes
Si

Glasgow Festival of DIY Culture

A festival highlighting the activities of various individuals and
organisations in Glasgow that could be seen as DIY, not-for-profit or
non-commercial, highlighting communal and sustainable alternatives to
dominant forms of culture. The festival will explore the nature of these
activities and their interaction with the urban space that is Glasgow.
It should prove to be a celebration of the rich and diverse movement of
groups and individuals inventing, shaping and engaging with their
environment.

The event is being programmed by representatives from a number of
organisations working in Glasgow in ways that could be considered DIY.
The following are the individuals and groups on the committee:

live art shop
winning sperm party
plane stupid
etc
(if you’d like to join the committee please state this in your reply)

Held in the week between Monday the 21st and Sunday the 27th of
September. The event will be held in numerous locations across Glasgow,
invite us to your own spaces or join us in seeking out and exploring
undiscovered location in and around the city.

Our programme of events will be in a number of formats
	Lecture, Demonstration, Discussion
	Workshop
	Music Performance
	Urban explorations
	Site specific events

Groups are invited to curate their own events alongside the programme,
these could be:
	Lecture, Demonstration, Discussion
	Workshop
	Live Performance
	Exhibition/ Installations/ Art Events
	Anything you deem suitable

The committee seek to assist interested groups in realising their
proposed ideas. The committee will provide the following services:
Schedule of events to avoid clashes and ensure optimum participation
levels.
Assist with finding space, collaborators and volunteers for your idea.
Promote all events through a booklet with a map of Glasgow and
times/venues.

In order to maintain the autonomy and freedom of each group or
individual involved, we expect collaborators to support their own events
financially, therefore you are responsible for pricing, financing and
managing your own event. There is no central funding body for the
festival; we aim to highlight the importance of creating financially
sustainable, independent DIY projects.
