things to check:

* the cost and availability of replacement lamps for any model you are looking 
at and their life expectancy
* minimum/maximum focus distance (will it fit in the room)
* resolution
* how bright (will it work in a room with the lights on)

the last 3 are less of an issue with newer models, but still something to 
check
