Picnic with a purpose - Pollok Park 23 AUG 2PM - All invited!

Come along for some fun and learn about the "Common Good" what it is and
why we the people of Glasgow should be in charge of it - and the profits
should be used for the publics good, not council organised business deals.
Don't wait till your kids green space is sold-off.

Glasgow City Council finally acknowledged Pollok Park’s Common Good status
last week, so we are celebrating with a Picnic with a Purpose on Sunday 23
August - all welcome!

Following Glasgow City Council's acknowledgment of the Park's common
good status, we have slightly changed the focus of our Picnic with a
Purpose on Sunday, 23 August.

We’ll hand out leaflets to members of the public explaining in everyday
terms that Common Good assets belong to the citizens NOT the Council We'll
show people in Glasgow how to make an application to the city council for
Common Good funds for a community purpose.

If you would like to join in, please come along. We invite all groups
interested in spreading the word about common good to come along and
interact with the public. We'll be handing out leaflets explaining in
everyday terms that Common Good assets belong to the citizens NOT the Council.

We'll show people in Glasgow how to make an application to the city
council for Common Good funds for a community purpose.

We'll mount fun and games to reinforce the message that Pollok Park is
OURS - not a council asset. So if you would like to join in, please
come along. We're pretty sure we'll have media coverage.

There's a poster in the Files section of this site - you can download
it to encourage support!

Keep parks free for people - not for the profits of banks
